Goal-Setting with Instructions

This exercise is a key part of our work together. It is important to carefully consider and clearly articulate your goal(s). You may have multiple goals to work on, which is great! Copy this worksheet and complete the exercise for each goal. Include a priority ranking for each goal as well. Writing down your goals is an important initial step.

Must be specific, measurable, stated positively and simply. Think big.

Rank the priority of this goal. Compare this goal with your others. Rank them: most important as #1, then secondary as #2, and so on.

What specific obstacles do you currently identify that may impede the achievement of this goal? Please consider both tangible and intangible barriers, such as insufficient funding, limited time, lack of support, inadequate education, fear, etc

Identify potential actions to overcome the obstacles. Consider various resources you can utilize, including both tangible and intangible ones, such as self-confidence, support from others, education, time, money, and so forth.
